A sunroom, garden room, or conservatory is a structure which is constructed onto the side of the house, usually to allow the user to enjoy the surrounding landscape while being protected from the elements such as wind or rain. Large glass panels allow the user to view the outdoors and the roof is slanted to a degree to allow rain water to channel into the drain pipes. The structure is usually constructed on the back of the house into the garden so that the user can have the feel of being in the garden while being indoors and protected. Modern sunrooms have roofs which allow sunlight in but block UV and other harmful rays.
